New Zealand's "golden visas" are best-sellers

In order to attract new investment, the New Zealand government has lowered the hurdles for the "golden visas" that allow foreigners to move to the country: According to the new rules, which have been in force since April, applicants no longer need to be fluent in English and only need to have been in the country for three weeks instead of three years to establish their residence there.
The new government has also reduced the investment amount: For so-called growth visas, investments of "only" five million New Zealand dollars (equivalent to approximately three million US dollars) are now required. For other visas, which also allow applicants to invest in their own real estate, bonds, and stocks in the country, the lower limit is ten million dollars, as reported by the Financial Times. And, according to the promise of the new conservative government: Processing should now be significantly faster.
